This website explains the history of the Fender guitar company, the adoption of their guitars by now renowned musicians, and its surge in popularity that occurred 60 years ago.
Through the use of graphics, quotations from musicians, and articles written by Fender, the importance of these guitars are shown. It is important to note that the majority of the discussion revolves around the Fender Stratocaster, but some other models are named, so as to provide context. A history of the company is also discussed, and its heavy influence on bands in its immediate area.
Based on this, we can state that the Fender guitar - as well as the company - has influenced the sound of musicians to the point of profound impact on musical history. From Buddy Holly to Kurt Cobain, from Jimi Hendrix to Eric Clapton, this electric guitar has done as much for blues as it has for hard rock, propelling music into our present. Only a handful of musicians are discussed, but they are the pioneers of the Fender sound. Examples include Dick Dale, Eric Clapton, the Beach Boys, and naturally Jimi Hendrix.
